The trailer sheds light on the infamous alleged murder case that got a lot of attention from the media. What unfolded after shook Mumbai’s high society and the country at large, forever altering the lives of the Mukerjea and Bora families.

The documentary includes interviews with key figures of the case, including accused Indrani Mukerjea and her daughter Vidhie. It shows unseen family pictures and disturbing phone call recordings between Indrani, Peter, and Rahul Mukerjea. These give us a better understanding of why Sheena, a young girl, disappeared mysteriously, and make us question each person's version of the truth.

The documentary shares both sides of the story, going through conflicting reports at the beginning. It gives us a look into the problems within a rich Indian family and the secrets that caused a lot of harm. "The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth" will also have interviews with Mukerjea, her family, lawyers, and journalists who first reported the case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), that took over the case, filed charges against Indrani under the Indian Penal Code Sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), 34 (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating and forgery), 364 (kidnapping) 120-B (conspiracy).

Indrani, who is currently out on bail, got bail in May 2022 after being at the Byculla Jail for seven years.
