Panchayat 4's Rinki AKA Sanvikaa On Kiss Scene With Sachiv Ji, Jitendra Kumar: 'It Felt...'

Panchayat star Saanvika reveals she turned down a kissing scene with Jitendra Kumar in Season 4 due to discomfort and the show’s family-friendly image.

Actress Saanvika, who portrays the beloved character Rinki in the hit rural drama Panchayat, recently opened up about a personal choice that altered a crucial scene in Season 4. Known for its simplicity and strong emotional undercurrents, the show almost included a moment of intimacy between Rinki and Jitendra Kumar’s Sachiv ji, until Saanvika declined.

Speaking with Just Too Filmy, she revealed that a kissing scene was proposed during the scripting phase. “In the beginning, no one said anything when the narration was done. But then director Akshat talked to me. He told that in this season we have inserted a scene where Sachiv ji and Rinki will kiss,” she said.

“I Thought About It and Said No”: Saanvika

The scene, originally planned to unfold in a car, made Saanvika reflect on her comfort level and the show’s widespread popularity among family audiences. “So I said give me two days to think whether I am comfortable doing it or not,” she explained. “Then I thought that ‘Panchayat’ has all kinds of audiences, but mostly family people. I was worried about how he would react, and I was also not comfortable. So I refused at that time.”

The kiss was ultimately scrapped and replaced with a more subtle “tank scene.” Still, the situation felt uneasy for the actress even during filming. “They said that we will not shoot it in a vulgar way. But when we were shooting, it felt awkward. I became very uncomfortable,” she admitted.

Jitendra Kumar Made Her Feel at Ease

Despite the awkwardness, Saanvika praised her co-star Jitendra Kumar, calling him a supportive scene partner. “Jeetu is a very nice person. He makes you feel comfortable,” she noted. Their understated chemistry has become a fan favorite. In an earlier interview with News18 Showsha, she described it as “an unsaid chemistry… it’s give and take – we don’t talk much, just the basics. But we understand each other while performing.”

Panchayat Season 5 Update: Shooting Likely by Year-End

Fans won’t have to wait long for the next installment. Saanvika confirmed that Season 5 is already in development. “The process for Panchayat Season 5 has begun. Hopefully, maybe by mid-next year or sometime next year, it will be released,” she shared. “And we are likely to begin the shoot for Season 5 maybe at the end of this year or next year. The writing has already started.”

With relatable characters and grounded storytelling, Panchayat continues to strike a chord. And with Season 5 on the horizon, the story of Rinki and Sachiv ji is far from over.
