A Story of Sisterhood and Sacrifice
The film follows Anuja, a talented nine-year-old girl, and her seventeen-year-old sister, Palak, as they toil in a back-alley garment factory. Their lives take a turn when a compassionate teacher offers Anuja a scholarship to an elite boarding school, presenting the sisters with a difficult choice—one that mirrors the real-life struggles of many young girls around the world.

Adding to the film’s authenticity, ‘Anuja’ was produced in partnership with Mira Nair’s Salaam Baalak Trust, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering street and working children.
