Kohrra Creator Sudip Sharma Says Inspiration For Show Came From A Poem By Charles Bukowski
Sudip Sharma revealed that a poem by Charles Bukowski was the source of the inspiration for the show's inception.
New Delhi: The audience has been praising the recently released streaming drama 'Kohrra' for its complex development of characters and refined storyline. Sudip Sharma and Karnesh Ssharma of Clean Slate Films, makers of the 'Pataal Lok' film series, created a new thriller series that is currently trending. Sudip Sharma revealed that a poem by Charles Bukowski was the source of the inspiration for the show's inception.
Sudip spoke with IANS about how the show first began. "The show came into being with the idea to explore various facets of love. The genesis of the show was the poem 'Love is a dog from hell' by Charles Bukowski. We wanted to explore love and its different forms, be it between two lovers, a father and son, a father and daughter, a mother and son or a mother and daughter," he said.
"We wanted to understand through the story what is it that makes love such a complex emotion and what is the 'fog' that stops people from seeing the truth. Since we wrote it with that intention, the idea was to get deeper into the layers of these characters rather than just looking at it through the lens of a plot driven procedural because when you do that, you tend to ignore the nuances and we wanted to test these characters and touch upon what makes them the way they are," Sudip added.
'Kohrra' chronicles the murder of an NRI and the drama that follows. Suvinder Vicky, Barun Sobti, Harleen Sethi, Rachel Shelley, and an NRI youngster play the mother and friend of the investigating officers, respectively. Every character in the show is coping with a different circumstance and has their own dark secrets, which makes it intriguing to watch.
