Criminal Justice 4 Review: Pankaj Tripathi Makes Every Second Count In This Gripping Legal Drama

Criminal Justice is a series that has carved out a niche fan base over time—and the same can be said for its lead actor, Pankaj Tripathi.

Criminal Justice season 4 review: Criminal Justice is a series that has carved out a niche fan base over time—and the same can be said for its lead actor, Pankaj Tripathi. When these two forces come together, the result is doubly entertaining. The latest season brings an intriguing case, further elevated by Tripathi’s stellar performance. After a brief hiatus, the acclaimed actor is back in full form. The Applause Entertainment series comprises eight episodes, with JioHotstar currently streaming the first three. A new episode is released every Thursday.

Criminal Justice Season 4: Plot

This season focuses on Dr. Raj Nagpal (played by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub), who is estranged from his wife Anju Nagpal (Surveen Chawla). Although not legally divorced, the two live in separate flats within the same apartment complex. They share a daughter with special needs, and to care for her, Dr. Raj hires a nurse, Roshni Saluja (Asha Negi). Over time, Roshni and Raj grow close and begin an affair. Things take a dark turn when Roshni is murdered. The investigation that follows is the heart of the series, with Madhav Mishra (Pankaj Tripathi) taking up Dr. Raj’s defense. To uncover the truth behind the murder, viewers must watch the series.

A Legal Drama That Grips

Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach is gripping and well-paced. The writing is crisp, and the storytelling avoids unnecessary drama—one of the show’s biggest strengths. The twists are timely and genuinely surprising, keeping the audience invested. As new characters enter the plot, the murder mystery becomes even more layered. Once you start watching, it’s hard to stop—though currently, only three episodes are available, viewers are likely to wait eagerly for the rest.

Pankaj Tripathi Owns The Screen

Pankaj Tripathi is the soul of the series. Known for his nuanced performances, Tripathi once again delivers a fresh, compelling portrayal of Madhav Mishra. With no over-the-top antics, his subtle expressions and perfectly timed one-liners shine. His presence brings humor effortlessly without feeling forced. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub does justice to his role, though the script limits his emotional range, which is in line with his character’s situation. Surveen Chawla convincingly portrays a layered role, shifting between shades with ease. Asha Negi impresses with her screen presence and leaves an impact despite limited screen time. Her flashback scenes are particularly noteworthy. Khushi Bhardwaj stands out as Ira, while Khushboo Atre, Mita Vashisht, and Shweta Basu Prasad deliver solid performances. Prasad holds her own in intense courtroom scenes opposite seasoned actors like Tripathi and Vashisht. Kalyani Mule is also effective as Sub-Inspector Gauri Karmarkar.

Writing and Direction

The story, penned by Harman Wadala, Sandeep Jain, and Sameer Mishra, is tight and effective. Rohan Sippy’s direction ensures every scene serves a purpose. The simplicity in writing proves that compelling narratives don’t require melodrama. The series is engaging and neatly executed from start to finish.

Final Verdict

Criminal Justice: Season 4 is a must-watch. With a gripping plot, smart writing, and an exceptional performance by Pankaj Tripathi, it offers a binge-worthy experience that leaves viewers wanting more.
