Tabu Reunites With Akshay Kumar And Priyadarshan For Horror Comedy Bhooth Bangla, See Post

With ‘Bhooth Bangla’, Tabu returns to the world of horror-comedy, a genre she previously excelled in.

Tabu, fresh from her global success in ‘Dune: Prophecy’, the sci-fi prequel to Denis Villeneuve's acclaimed franchise, has now announced her next project, reuniting with Akshay Kumar.

Tabu to star in Akshay Kumar's Bhooth Bangla

On Saturday night, Tabu shared a photo on her Instagram, featuring a clapboard framed by the soft glow of candles. The clapboard text read:  “Balaji Telefilms Ltd Presents Bhooth Bangla."

Tabu captioned the post, “Hum yahan bandh hain (we are trapped here).”

Tabu tagged the film’s director Priyadarshan, production house Balaji Motion Pictures, and co-stars Akshay Kumar, Jisshu Sengupta, Wamiqa Gabbi, along with music composer Pritam in her post.

Interestingly, director Priyadarshan and co-star Akshay Kumar previously collaborated on the inaugural installment of the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ franchise in 2007.

With ‘Bhooth Bangla’, Tabu returns to the world of horror-comedy, a genre she previously excelled in. She mesmerised audiences as the twin witches Manjulika and Anjulika in Anees Bazmee's 2022 blockbuster ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and shined in Rohit Shetty's 2017 hit ‘Golmaal Again’.

Tabu's films

Tabu and Priyadarshan have a long history of successful collaborations, including the 1997 Bollywood action-drama Virasat, the 2000 cult comedy ‘Hera Pheri’, the Tamil mystery-thriller ‘Snegithiye’, and the Malayalam crime-thriller ‘Raakilipattu’.

She also shares a strong on-screen connection with Akshay Kumar, having co-starred with him in ‘Hera Pheri’ and the action film ‘Tu Chor Main Sipahi’. Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi previously worked together in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2023 Netflix spy thriller ‘Khufiya’. Meanwhile, Akshay and Priyadarshan reunite for ‘Bhooth Bangla’ after collaborating on hits like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, ‘Garam Masala’, ‘Bhagam Bhag’, and 'De Dana Dan'.
