Mumbai: ‘Chennai Express’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles has completed 8 years of its release today. This movie not only became a box-office success but was also one of the most-loved roles of Deepika Padukone. The ‘Pathan’ actress stunned the audience with her perfect comic timing and movie-lovers rejoiced as SRK and Deepika reunited on-screen after ‘Om Shanti Om’ which was released in the year 2007.

‘Chennai Express’ was released in the year 2013 and it marked one of Deepika’s performances which changed the shape of her career. This movie has established her as one of the leading artists of Bollywood. She was well-liked by both the critics and the audience in this film directed by Rohit Shetty. With this film, Padukone also entered the list of the ‘Reigning Queens’ of Bollywood.

On a related note, Deepika Padukone will reunite with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Pathan’ after a long break. The movie will also star John Abraham in a pivotal role.

She will be next seen featuring in the role of Romi Devi, cricketer Kapil Dev’s wife in the upcoming sports drama ‘83’ which will star her husband Ranveer Singh portraying the role of the protagonist. Deepika will also be seen featuring in ‘Pathan’, Shakun Batra’s untitled film co-starring Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi, ‘Fighter’ opposite Hrithik Roshan. She also has the untitled project with Nag Ashwin co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas in her kitty.
