Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan’s exit from ‘Dostana 2’ has set several tongues wagging. Movie buffs were surprised after Karan Johar decided to drop Aaryan from his upcoming film, citing ‘professional circumstances’. A reliable source told ABP News that KJo was miffed with the ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ for not allocating his dates and expressing displeasure with the film’s script even though he knew about it when he signed the dotted lines. The production house issued a statement to confirm Dostana 2’s re-casting and request the audience to wait for an official announcement.
Fans are quite excited to know which actor will replace Kartik Aartik in ‘Dostana 2’. According to a report in a leading daily, Karan Johar has requested Akshay Kumar to join the film as the makers don’t have a male lead at the moment.
A source told HT City that Karan Johar personally reached out to Khiladi Kumar for joining the cast of ‘Dostana 2’. The ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ director is ready to make changes in the film’s script so that it suits Akshay’s character, the report added.
Akshay and Karan, who have worked in ‘Kesari’ and ‘Good Newwz’, are yet to respond to the rumours. Their two films had set the box office on fire and it will be interesting to see them collaborate for the third time.
Interestingly, another report in Pinkvilla has refuted the rumour which suggested that Askhay Kumar would replace Kartik Aaryan in ‘Dostana 2’. The report said that the makers have not approached Akki or Varun Dhawan contrary to the speculations on the internet.
‘Dostana 2’ will mark the Bollywood debut of TV actor Lakshya Lalwani. The film, directed by Collin D’Cunha, also stars Janhvi Kapoor.
Talking about Akshay Kumar, the tinsel town superstar will be next seen in ‘Sooryavanshi’. The cop drama co-starring Katrina Kaif was slated to hit the silver screens on April 30, 2021; however, the makers had to postpone the release due to the COVID-19 crisis.
The ‘Rustom’ star also has ‘Atrangi Re’, ‘BellBottom’, ‘Prithviraj’ and ‘Bachchan Pandey’ in his kitty. He was hospitalized as a precautionary measure after testing positive for COVID-19. Akshay has returned home after recovering from the virus.
