'If They Thought It Was An Adult Film..': Akshay Kumar Reacts To 27 Cuts Suggested By CBFC Amid OMG 2 OTT Release
Akshay Kumar talked about the film's OTT release and reacted to reports that the board believed "it was an adult film."
New Delhi: After the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) suggested 27 edits, Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 faced unprecedented challenges. Netflix will release the movie on October 8. In a recent interview with India Today, the actor talked about the film's OTT release and reacted to reports that the board believed "it was an adult film."
Akshay Kumar spoke about the changes the CBFC made in a recent interview with India Today. "I don't want to fight. I have no idea about the rules. I didn't get into the rulebook. If they thought it was an adult film, then... did you all feel it is an adult film? Whoever we have shown the film to, they loved it. I made it for youngsters and I'm happy it is coming on Netflix and I'm happy about it. That's it. The important thing is that people should know about it," he said.
Remembering his experience with the 'Padman' film's 2018 promotion, Akshay said, “I did a film on sanitary pads at a time when nobody would dare to hold a sanitary pad in their hand, people weren't ready to touch it. I was standing with someone, I won't name them, I was the chief guest at an event. That person came to me and whispered in my ears not to give a pad to him because ‘Acchha nahi lagta’ (doesn't look good), this is the kind of thinking.”
'OMG 2' was given an A certificate by the CBFC with 27 cuts, ending weeks of rumours over whether it would get a U/A certificate. The film focuses on the topic of sex education for young people while exposing present myths. In 'OMG 2', Yami Gautam plays a lawyer, Pankaj Tripathi portrays Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a devotee of Lord Shiva, and Akshay Kumar plays a messenger of Lord Shiva.
