Kajol Says 'Finally' As Ajay Devgn Confirms 'Mayday' Release Date. Here's When Film Will Hit Silver Screens
Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Mayday' will arrive in the cinema halls next year.
Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn has confirmed that his much-awaited film ‘Mayday’ will hit the silver screens next year. The ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ actor took to social media to inform the fans about the same. Ajay made the announcement, a day after Maharashtra government allowed the cinema halls and theatres to reopen in the state from October 22.
‘Mayday’ Release Date
The aviation thriller will arrive in the cinema halls on April 29, 2022. Ajay is producing and directing the upcoming film, which has been making waves ever since the project was announced.
“Ah, at last the news of cinema theatres opening in October, in Maharashtra, is long-awaited and terrific. As promised earlier, the aviation-thriller drama, produced & directed by me, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh & Me in the lead, will release on 29th April, 2022,” Devgn wrote on Instagram.
Kajol Reacts After Ajay Devgn Announces 'Mayday' Release Date
Ajay's wife and actress Kajol dropped a comment on his post. The 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' star wrote, "Finally." Rakul Preet Singh also commented on the post.
‘Mayday’ Cast
Ajay will be seen sharing screen-space with Amitabh Bachchan after nine long years. The duo last worked together in Prakash Jha’s ‘Satyagraha’, which released in 2013.
‘Mayday’ will also star Rakul Preet Singh, Aakanksha Singh, Boman Irani and Angira Dhar. The film will mark the Bollywood debut of popular YouTuber CarryMinati aka Ajey Nagar.
Ajay Devgn's Upcoming Films
On the professional front, Ajay was recently seen in 'Bhuj: The Pride Of India'. The war drama co-starring Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi premiered directly on Disney+Hotstar on August 13, 2021. The film received mixed reviews from the critics upon its release on the OTT platform.
Devgn has several exciting projects in his kitty including 'Maidaan' and 'Thank God'. He will be seen in a special appearance in Jr. NTR and Ram Charan starrer 'RRR'.
