The makers of director Shaneil Deo’s highly anticipated pan-India action drama Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, announced on Monday that the film will hit theatres worldwide on December 25, 2025 — just in time for Christmas.
The announcement was made by Annapurna Studios, which is presenting the film.
Sharing the update on X (formerly Twitter), the studio wrote: "From ROMANCE to RAGE. Witness a wicked fire between exes. #DACOITFire out now! #DACOIT IN CINEMAS WORLDWIDE ON DECEMBER 25th. #DacoitFromDec25th."

Alongside the announcement, a glimpse video of the film was also unveiled, creating a buzz among fans and cinephiles. The teaser introduces Mrunal Thakur’s character, Juliet, who is told through a voiceover that everyone has betrayed her — except one man.
That man, played by Adivi Sesh, is initially expected to comfort her. But in a shocking twist, his character — shown as a prisoner — says, “I'm here to destroy you.”

About Dacoit
Described by the filmmakers as “an explosion of guns and roses… betrayal and trust… and above all, love and loss,” the film revolves around a volatile relationship between two former lovers, promising an intense emotional and action-packed experience.
In addition to Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, Dacoit features acclaimed filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap in a powerful role, along with veterans like Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla.
Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Sunil Narang, Dacoit is presented by Annapurna Studios. The story and screenplay have been co-written by Shaneil Deo and Adivi Sesh.
The film is being shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, with cinematography by Danush Bhaskar, music by Bheems Ceciroleo, and editing by Kodati Pavan Kalyan.
