Karan Johar's 'Mid-Life Crisis' Inspired His Look At Ranbir-Alia Wedding

The 49-year-old was a special guest at the wedding and reportedly also the first one to apply henna on Alia's hands whom he has called his 'own daughter' on multiple occasions.

New Delhi: Without a doubt, one of the best dressed people at Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's wedding was Karan Johar. But, did you know what inspired the filmmaker and producer's look? His mid-life crisis. Says who? Says the man himself.

Karan Johar took to his Instagram handle to share pictures of himself from Alia & Ranbir's wedding. In one of them, we see Karan in a yellow kurta-set looking dapper. He wore this outfit on Alia's Mehendi. For the wedding, Karan wore a light pink-Kurta set which was again a Manish Malhotra outfit.

The 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' director captioned his pictures, "Shaadi Tayaar … dil me bahut saara pyaar … dhal gayee jawaani … but mid life crisis hai to pehen liya Manish Malhotra ki sheravani! Chand Jaisi Alia Raaja humare RK! Rab ne bana di jodi woh bhi saj dhaj ke!" ( Wedding ready, a lot of love in my heart, youth has gone by but since I am in a mid-life crisis, so I chose to wear a sherwani by Manish Malhotra. Alia is like a moon and Ranbir is like a king, this union is made by god himself)

Karan is known for his catchy captions that make fans revisit his Instagram profile once in a while.

The 49-year-old was a special guest at the wedding and reportedly also the first one to apply henna on Alia's hands whom he has called his 'own daughter' on multiple occasions.

Karan also shared an emptional note post Ranbir and Alia's wedding on his Instagram account in which he called Ranbir his son-in-law.

His post read, ""It's days like this that we live for ...where there is the most beautiful blend of family, love and absolute emotion..... overwhelmed and so full of love in my heart... my darling @aliaabhatt this is such a beautiful life step and my love and blessings go with you everywhere ... Ranbir! I love you... now and forever! You are now my son in law...badhai ho and here's to decades of khusiyan (happiness)."
