A fire broke out in a building housing singer Shaan's home in Mumbai in the early hours of Tuesday. Fire tenders reached the spot and started dousing the blaze. Visuals showed thick fumes of smoke emanating from the building.

As per a report published in India Today, an 80-year-old woman was rescued from the building after she suffered breathing difficulties. She was admitted to a private hospital and remains in the ICU in critical condition, according to hospital officials. Authorities received the fire alert at around 1:45 am, following which the fire department dispatched 10 vehicles to extinguish the flames. 

Initial investigations suggest a short circuit may have caused the fire. Both police and fire services are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident, the report added.
