Earlier, Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey questioned the Mumbai Police about the money trail and why it was not investigated. "In the past four years, around Rs 50 crore was credited to the bank account of Sushant Singh Rajput but surprisingly all of it was withdrawn. In one year, Rs 17 crore was credited to his account, out of which Rs 15 crore was withdrawn. Isn't this a crucial point to be investigated? We are not going to sit quiet. We will question them (Mumbai Police) as to why such leads are hushed up," the DGP told the media.
In a major update on the case, the Bihar Chief Minister has also said that the CBI should investigate the case.
"Only after the consent from the family will the Bihar police recommend that the case be taken by the CBI. I feel that CBI, since their reach is so much wider, will be able to do a better job," said Nitish Kumar to ABP News. He also condemned the action of the Mumbai police of putting Vinay Tiwari, an IPS officer in quarantine.

He said that he filed an FIR in Patna after Mumbai Police didn’t act even 40 days after the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor’s death.
