Vedavid meaning: Actress Yami Gautam and her husband and director Aditya Dhar have become parents to a baby boy. The couple took to Instagram on Monday and announced the arrival of their baby boy – Vedavid. Their son was born Akshaya Tritiya, May 10, 2024. Their choice of name has caught everyone’s attention, as Vedavid is a unique and unusual name. Here’s what the name means. 

What does Vedavid mean?

Vedavid means "one who knows the Vedas." It is also a name associated with Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and Lord Ram. Though the origin of the name is not known, if we break down the name it signifies the following: "Veda" is a Sanskrit word meaning knowledge or sacred scripture in Hinduism, and "Vid" means one who has knowledge of something. The pronunciation of Vedavid is 'Vedvid', without an 'aa' sound after the first 'd'. 

Yami and Aditya's announcement

In the post announcing the arrival of their baby boy, the couple wrote, “"We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the exceptionally dedicated and wonderful medical professionals at Surya Hospital, especially Dr. Bhupender Awasthi and Dr. Ranjana Dhanu, whose expertise and tireless efforts made this joyous occasion possible." 

"As we embark on this beautiful journey of parenthood, we eagerly anticipate the bright future that awaits our son. Yami and Aditya got married in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh in the presence of 20 guests during the COVID-19 pandemic.
