Amid India's Got Latent controversy, an old video of Samay Raina discussing his decision to reject OTT platform offers for his show has resurfaced.

Comedian Samay Raina’s show 'India’s Got Latent' has been embroiled in a controversy after Ranveer Allahbadia made a comment on the show resulting in a huge backlash. The show, known for its unfiltered and provocative content, is facing mounting criticism over its offensive humour. Amid this, an old video of Samay Raina discussing his decision to reject OTT platform offers for his show has resurfaced.
Why Samay Raina rejected OTT offers for India's Got Latent
In the video, Raina shares that while he received substantial offers from streaming platforms, he opted for a membership-based model to retain complete creative control, even if it meant courting controversy.
“Thanks to memberships, I’m already in profit. Do you get it? And that makes me happy because right now, OTT platforms are offering me huge sums to bring India’s Got Latent to their platforms. But the problem? They’ll have too much control over the content," said Raina in the clip.
He further explained, “Memberships allow me to stay independent. I can keep the show exactly as it is. I don’t want to cut this joke, I don’t want to mute certain things. I want it to stay raw. Controversy might follow, but I’d rather keep it raw."

What Ranveer Allahbadia said on India's Got Latent
It all started when Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as ‘BeerBiceps’ posed an inappropriate question to a contestant: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?”
The clip quickly gained traction on social media, sparking widespread outrage. Allahbadia has since faced severe backlash for the remark, and has apologised for it.
Legal trouble soon followed, as cases were filed against Allahbadia, Raina, and social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, among others, for allegedly using "abusive language" on the show. On Tuesday, Maharashtra Cyber Cell registered a case against nearly 30-40 individuals associated with the show, covering everyone involved from its first episode to the latest, episode six.
