Acclaimed filmmaker Shoojit Sircar has collaborated with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, but not for a movie—this time, it's for a commercial! The director, known for his distinct storytelling, expressed his excitement about working with SRK on this latest venture.
Reflecting on the shoot, Shoojit told News 18, “Filming with SRK is always a pleasure. We had fun. He looked fabulous and absolutely fit. He didn’t leave the set for almost eight hours. We shot it in one stretch. I told him I had the opportunity to release one of his coffee table book in Kolkata. He was very happy, and we spoke about it.”
A recently leaked behind-the-scenes photo from the set shows Shah Rukh Khan wearing an apron in a kitchen setup. This sparked speculation among fans, with many wondering if the duo was secretly working on a film together. However, a report by Mid-Day debunked the rumours, clarifying that the shoot was actually for a cookie advertisement. The ad reportedly carries a lighthearted, slice-of-life theme.
Renovation plans for Mannat
Meanwhile, the Khan family will be moving out of their legendary residence, Mannat, as the mansion is set to undergo a renovation later this year.
As per a report by Hindustan Times, the long-awaited expansion and refurbishment project will begin in May. During the renovation, Shah Rukh Khan, along with his wife Gauri Khan and their children—Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam—will move into a luxurious residence in Bandra’s upscale Pali Hill area. Reports suggest that the superstar has leased multiple floors in an elite residential tower owned by veteran producer Vashu Bhagnani. According to the report, the four leased floors will accommodate not just the Khan family but also their security team, household staff, and even some office space. Reports indicate that Shah Rukh Khan will be paying ₹24 lakh per month as rent for the property.
The renovation of Mannat is expected to be a prolonged process, potentially taking up to two years before the Khan family can return to their iconic abode.
SRK’s upcoming film, King
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next big project, King, directed by Siddharth Anand. In King, Shah Rukh plays the lead role, while his daughter, Suhana Khan, will be seen in a significant character. Adding to the excitement, Abhishek Bachchan is set to portray the antagonist. The action-packed film is being produced under Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix.
