Saif Ali Khan attack: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was left with several injuries after being attacked with a knife by an intruder at his Mumbai residence in the early hours of Thursday. The 54-year-old actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery after the attack, which occurred around 2:30 am at his home in the Bandra area. As the news of the attack continues to unfold, one can't help but recall a similar, incident that took place back in 2011 at his sister Soha Ali Khan's apartment.  

When burglary was attempted at Soha Ali Khan's house

In February 2011, while Kunal Kemmu was in a relationship with Soha Ali Khan, the couple faced a frightening situation when a burglary was attempted at Soha's apartment in Khar. On that particular Friday night, after attending a preview of Kunal’s upcoming film, the couple returned to Soha’s first-floor flat. After a casual dinner, the two were chatting when they suddenly heard a noise from the balcony. Kunal immediately went to investigate and was shocked to see a thief attempting to break into the house. 

Kunal Kemmu nabbed the burglar

In a panic, the intruder tried to escape by climbing out of the first-floor balcony, but he lost his footing and fell. The thief attempted to get back on his feet and flee, but Kunal, quick on his feet, rushed down the stairs and managed to apprehend the intruder before he could escape. 

Initial investigations revealed that the thief had a long history of house break-ins, with ten previous cases against him.  

A close friend of the couple told Mid-Day how the evening had unfolded, recounting that Kunal and Soha had just returned from the film screening and were unwinding with dinner when they heard the noise. "When Kunal went to check, he saw the man trying to escape. The thief, in his desperation, lost his balance and fell, giving Kunal the chance to catch him," the friend told Mid-Day.
