Actor couple Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa are all set to embrace parenthood. The duo shared the joyous news with fans on Wednesday via a joint post on Instagram, marking a new chapter in their relationship.

The couple chose a sweet and minimal way to announce the big news, a beautifully illustrated picture featuring a flower-decked cradle with the words “Baby on the way” written across it. At the bottom of the image, their names were subtly inscribed. The caption was short but filled with emotion: “Elated ❤️❤️”.

The announcement was met with a flurry of love and congratulations from friends and colleagues in the film industry. Filmmaker Farah Khan, who appears to have known the news for a while, commented, “Finally the news is out!! I was having a tough time keeping it to myself 😂.. congratulations.”
Several celebrities including Neha Dhupia, Sonam Kapoor, Esha Gupta, Bhumi Pednekar, Pulkit Samrat, Manushi Chhillar, and Dia Mirza also chimed in to wish the couple well on this special milestone.

Rajkummar and Patralekhaa’s relationship has always been admired for its sincerity and depth. After being together for over 11 years, the couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony on November 15, 2021.
Sharing their wedding pictures at the time, Rajkummar had written, “Finally after 11 years of love, romance, friendship and fun, I got married to my everything today, my soulmate, my best friend, my family. Today there is no greater happiness for me than being called your husband @patralekhaa. Here’s to forever .. and beyond”.
They’ve shared screen space in critically acclaimed projects like Citylights and the series Bose: Dead/Alive, and continue to support each other’s careers.
On the work front
While Patralekhaa was last seen in Phule, a biographical film on reformers Jyotirao and Savitribai Phule, Rajkummar Rao is gearing up for the release of his next film Maalik, where he plays a fearsome gangster. Also starring Manushi Chhillar and Prosenjit Chatterjee, the film hits theatres on July 11.
