John Abraham Opens Up About His Reaction To Journalist At Vedaa Trailer Launch: 'Was Planted There To Rile Me Up'

John Abraham explained his outburst at the reporter on The Ranveer Show podcast after the latter questioned him about why he consistently makes the same kind of films.

Actor John Abraham and a journalist recently got into a heated argument during the release of the trailer for his new action movie, 'Vedaa', starring Nikkhil Advani. Now, John explained his outburst at the reporter on The Ranveer Show podcast after the latter questioned him about why he consistently makes the same kind of films.

John cliamed that he was “intentionally” provoked at the event. “I know that one person was planted there to rile me up, to antagonise me, to make me angry. And I want to say that they won and I lost because I got angry,” he said.

The actor added, “I don’t like trailer launches because you time travel 20 years back, the same journalists, the same absurd questions, no one is asking the right questions, and entertainment journalism in India, according to me, is finished.”

At the trailer launch event, the journalist asked John to do something new. To which, John initially responded, “First of all did you watch this film?” The reporter replied, “No sir, I assumed from the trailer.” He said, “Can I call out bad questions and idiots?”

John lost his temper and went on to say, “I want to directly tell you that this film is different. At least for me, what I've done is a very intense performance. Since you haven't seen the film yet... Maybe watch the film first and then judge."

John Abraham talks about Koffee with Karan

John also talked about the negative feedback he has got over the years and his experiences in Bollywood. Podcaster Ranveer Alhabadia was wondering what kind of struggles the Bollywood actor had faced in the profession when he thought back to earlier seasons of Koffee with Karan and noticed how frequently John was criticised on the show.

John said, “Why Koffee with Karan? At that time, there were many film magazines and their editors. One editor had released a special issue titled ‘John Abraham is Over,’ and I was on the cover. They interviewed all the distributors, exhibitors, producers, directors, actors, female actors, and everyone was more often than not in agreement that I was finished.”

John Abraham starrer ‘Vedaa’ is directed by Nikkhil Advani. The film also stars Sharvari in the lead role.
