New Delhi: Aneez Bazmee has been writing and directing films for many decades now. The 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' maker recently shed light on the horror comedy that broke the period of lull at the box office post COVID-19. In an interaction with Siddharth Kannan, he shed light on the kind of horror comedy he always wanted to make, how Tabu came on board and more.

Bazmee praised Kiara Advani for her performance( despite not having that much of a role), Kiara Advani and Tabu for their contribution in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’.

Bazmee shared that he had seen many classics in the horror-comedy genre, but he always wanted to make a film that could be seen by families and children. So, to what extent the children will enjoy and yet be scared, was always the ruling point behind every scene in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’.

How Tabu came on board Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

The ‘Singh Is Kinng’ director also shed light on how he got actor Tabu on board. Bazmee shared in the same interaction that he and Tabu have always been friends and wanted to work together for quite some time.

So, when Bazmee called Tabu and told her about the film, she asked what it was. To which he said, “Aap isme achi bhi hai aur isme buri bhi hai, toh she said, 'main aa rahi huin, I am doing, main milti huin… itna maza raha unke sath is film mein, boht acha kham kia hai unhone ( You are good and bad in the role, to which she instantly said, I am coming and I am doing the role. She has done great work in the film).”

 

Anees Bazmee also shared that Kartik Aaryan was more confident about 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' working on theatres than the filmmaker himself.

Praising the film, Bazmee said, “ Puri film, uska screenplay boht acha tha, dialogue boht acha tha, background music pe humne boht mehnat ki thi, mujhe yaad hai 3-4 mahine mein betha huin background music pe... ek teamwork hota hai, sare log mile hai, ek hi page pe, ek hi cheez chahte hai..."( The entire film, its screenplay, dialgues and background music, we worked very hard on it. I remember sitting 3-4 months in the background music…)

Meanwhile, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ collected Rs. 266. 88 cr at the box office and became the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022. The film also received several nominations at the Filmfare Awards.
