Goldy Brar Admits AP Dhillon Shooting Was Meant to Spread Fear, Not Personal
Gangster Goldy Brar revealed in BBC's ‘The Killing Call’ that the 2024 shooting outside AP Dhillon’s home in Canada was intended to intimidate and ease extortion demands, not cause harm.

Months after a disturbing shooting rocked singer AP Dhillon’s home in Vancouver, Canada, new revelations have come to light in the BBC documentary The Killing Call. Gangster Goldy Brar, associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has admitted that the attack wasn’t intended to kill but to spark fear, and make future extortion attempts easier.
The incident, which took place in September 2024, involved gunshots being fired at Dhillon’s residence and two vehicles being set ablaze. While the singer escaped unharmed, the chilling message sent by the attack has had lasting implications on the Punjabi entertainment industry.
Sidhu Moosewala’s Death Sparked A New Wave Of Notoriety
Investigative journalist Ishleen Kaur, who interviewed Goldy Brar for the documentary, probed deeper into the motivations behind the attack. Brar maintained that the gang killed Sidhu Moosewala because of his alleged ties with a rival gang and claimed the murder was in retaliation for the killing of Vicky Middukhera.
Ishleen pointed out how the gang capitalised on Sidhu’s fame after his death, saying, “Before Sidhu’s murder, a lot of people had never even heard of Lawrence Bishnoi or Goldy Brar but after they killed Sidhu, everyone knew about them... They took Sidhu’s fame and... transformed it into their own notoriety.”
“We Have To Extort People”: Goldy’s Cold Admission
When asked about the AP Dhillon shooting, Goldy Brar didn’t mince words. He denied financial motives alone, stating, “To feed a family of four, a man has to struggle all his life. We have to look after hundreds or even thousands of people who are like family to us. We have to extort people. To get money, we have to be feared.”
While the gang may have claimed it wasn’t personal, the psychological impact on the Punjabi music industry is clear. The shooting was a calculated move to intimidate, especially as public figures like Salman Khan, Gippy Grewal, and others have received similar threats since Sidhu Moosewala’s assassination.
In November 2024, police arrested 25-year-old Abjeet Kingra in connection with the shooting. However, authorities continue to search for a second suspect, as the case remains active.
This documentary sheds light on how fame, fear, and violence intersect in a terrifying underworld—one that continues to cast a shadow over public life and pop culture.
