Deepika Padukone Exits Prabhas Starrer 'Spirit'; What Went Wrong With Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Film?
Deepika Padukone has reportedly parted ways with the highly anticipated film Spirit, starring Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
New Delhi: Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is enjoying every moment with her daughter Dua while still balancing her busy work schedule. New rumours in the business, nevertheless, indicate that her next film schedule is changing. Previously cast in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Spirit', a highly anticipated film starring Prabhas, the actress has apparently been dropped from the production. Although no formal announcement has been made public, some sources indicate that a number of conflicts about working conditions are the reason for the exit.
According to a source who talked to Bollywood Hungama, Sandeep Reddy Vanga was taken by surprise when Deepika set strict guidelines for her working hours via her agency. The source said, “Sandeep Reddy Vanga got the shock of his life when Deepika Padukone refused to shoot for more than 6 hours a day for Spirit. That's not all, the actress, via her agency, also started to demand an amendment to the contract. Their point of contention was simple - if the shoot extends beyond 100 days, Deepika will have to be paid extra for every single day of shoot beyond the commitment on paper.”
The production's insiders also said that Vanga sought to settle the dispute by speaking with his producer, but the attempts did not resolve the conflict. “Deepika and her team were not willing to bow,” said the insider.
A History of Scheduling Challenges
Pinkvilla had previously reported that Deepika's pregnancy had prompted her to walk out of the part, which in turn delayed the film's production. Reportedly, Deepika agreed to participate when Vanga rescheduled filming to accommodate her, after she had turned down the role at first owing to scheduling issues. Recent events, however, suggest that her participation has been halted due to unresolved disagreements.
