About the horrific Pahalgam attack
A group of tourists from Rajasthan was specifically targeted in the Baisaran Valley area of Pahalgam. The assault took place in the upper reaches of the valley, a picturesque location popular for trekking and film shoots since the 1980s.
Sources revealed that at least 28 people have lost their lives in the brutal attack, while several others sustained injuries. Security forces were immediately dispatched to the area, and a massive search operation is underway to locate the 2-3 terrorists believed to be responsible for the ambush.
The horrific incident comes at a time when Kashmir has been witnessing a surge in tourist activity after years of militancy. Baisaran, apart from being a favored trekking base, also connects to Tulian Lake and offers panoramic views of the Lidder Valley.
