Aamir Khan, known for being a perfectionist, recently shared what is his red flag in relationships. In a conversation with podcaster Raj Shamani, the actor shared a moment from his marriage to Kiran Rao, describing how emotional immaturity once overshadowed his personal relationships.

When questioned about red flags in his romantic life, Aamir was candid in acknowledging his workaholic tendencies. “Being a workaholic is definitely a red flag,” he confessed, elaborating on how his obsession with work left little room for emotional connection in the early days of his career. Despite his on-screen sensitivity, Aamir admitted he often failed to process emotions in real life.

When Aamir Khan didn't speak to Kiran Rao for four days

Sharing a memory of a heated argument with Kiran Rao, Aamir described how he would shut down completely when he felt hurt, withdrawing into a shell for days. “Kuch anban hui aur main kisi baat sey hurt hua aur maine baat karna band kar diya. Bilkul response nahin kar raha… itna hard… 4th-day raat ko woh mujhse baat karne ki koshish kar rahi thi aur main bilkul jawab nahin de raha tha to ek point pe woh rone lagi aur unhone kaha mujhe samajh nahin aa raha main kya karun aap to bilkul respond hee nahin kar rahe ho (There was some disagreement and I was hurt by something, so I stopped talking completely. I wasn’t responding at all… it was so hard… on the fourth night, she was trying to talk to me and I just wasn’t saying anything at all. At one point, she started crying and said, ‘I don’t know what to do because you’re not responding at all),” he recounted.

The actor admitted that during such arguments, his ego would often get the best of him, leaving him stuck in a cycle of silence and bitterness. “Deep hurt… ego is a very right word for that,” he reflected, noting that despite knowing how far things had gone, he felt unable to extend an olive branch.

It was only through therapy that Aamir began to understand the root of his reactions, identifying his inability to forgive and reconnect after feeling hurt as a persistent red flag in his relationships.

Aamir Khan, who was first married to Reena Dutta and shares two children, Junaid and Ira, married Kiran Rao in 2005. The couple, who have a son named Azad Rao Khan, parted ways in 2021 after 15 years of marriage. Aamir is now dating Gauri Spratt.
