Aamir Khan made headlines recently after introducing his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, to the media on his 60th birthday. At the event on March 14, Aamir officially introduced Gauri to everyone. During her first interaction with the press, Gauri opened up about what drew her to Aamir, while the superstar shared that Gauri isn’t exactly a movie buff.

Gauri revealed that she had only watched two of Aamir Khan’s films— ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Dil Chahta Hai’—and explained, “I wanted someone who was kind, a gentleman, and just caring.” Aamir, with a playful smile, responded, “And after all that, you ended up with me?”

Reflecting on his relationship with Gauri, Aamir shared, “I was looking for someone I can be calm with, who gives me peace. And there she was. I have tried to tell her how it will be, the media madness, and prepare her somewhat for it. She isn’t used to it. But we are hoping that you guys will be kind.”

At the same event, Aamir revealed that he had known Gauri for 25 years, but they only reconnected two years ago, leading to their deepening bond. He also shared that Gauri has no ties to the film industry and how their relationship is grounded in something beyond the glamour of Bollywood.

“She grew up in Bangalore, and her exposure was to different kinds of films and arts. So she doesn’t watch Hindi films. She has probably not seen much of my work, either. She doesn’t see me as a superstar but as a partner. But I do want her to watch Taare Zameen Par,” shared Aamir.

Who is Gauri Spratt?

Gauri, originally from Bengaluru, is currently working at Aamir Khan’s production house. She has a mixed heritage, being half-Tamilian and half-Irish, and also runs a BBlunt Salon in Mumbai. In 2004, Gauri pursued a fashion course in FDA styling and photography in London. Reports also mention that she has a six-year-old son.

Before his relationship with Gauri, Aamir was married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children—Junaid and Ira. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao, and together, they have a son, Azaad.
