Bengali Actress Rituparna Sengupta Tests COVID-19 Positive, Says 'Under Quarantine At Recovery Centre In Singapore'

Rituparna Sengupta Tests COVID-19 Positive: The National-Award winning actress Rituparna Sengupta took to the social media to confirm about her health. The 50-year-old said that she is in Singapore and has quarantined herself at recovery centre.

As the second wave of Coronavirus recently hit several states in India, many celebs and actors fell prey to the deadly disease. The latest to get infected with the novel Covid-19 is the National-Award winning actress Rituparna Sengupta who took to the social media to confirm about her health.

In a Twitter post, the famous Bengali screen star said, "I have tested positive for Covid-19 but I want to inform you all that I am feeling fine. I am asymptomatic and following all the required protocols and precautions advised by my doctor and authorities."

The 50-year-old, who is currently under quarantine, said that she is in Singapore and has quarantined herself at recovery centre.

The "Praktan" actor also thanked her fans for their continued support and concern. "I request all of you to stay calm and safe. My family and staff are all safe.Thank you all for your concern and good wishes," Sengupta added. 

Rituparna, a National Award winner for 'Dahan' in 1997, is one of the most successful names in the Bengali film industry. Recently there was news of the Bengali star featuring opposite actor Chandan Roy Sanyal in upcoming film "Salt" which would go on floors soon.

Earlier this month, several B-town A-listers including Ranbir Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ashish Vidyarthi were found to be infected with the Coronavirus.
