Those questioning air strikes are doubting EVMs after 3 phases of polling, says Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a road show and take part in the Ganga `aarti' in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi later in the day.

Darbhanga (Bihar): Ahead of his mega road show in Varanasi this afternoon, PM Narendra Modi said the opposition is jittery after three phases of general elections and has given up demanding proof of air strikes and started finding faults with EVMs. Mounting a veiled attack on Mayawati and Mamata Banerjee, Modi said, “people who are contesting only 40, 20 or even eight seats are standing in the queue waiting for their turn to become the prime minister.” Training guns at the grand alliance, Modi said, “for the 'Mahamilavat' gang, national security may not be any issue. But this is new India. Those involved in or abetting terror would be chased to their homes and finished off.” “Terrorism must be rooted out for the benefit of the poor so that the money now spent on security could be spent on their well-being,” Modi added. Further attacking the Opposition, he said some people have problems with slogans 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Vande Mataram'. “Should they not lose their deposits in elections,” he asked. He congratulated Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi for having brought the "days of lantern to an end in Bihar" and bringing electricity. Modi will hold a road show and take part in the Ganga `aarti' in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi later in the day. He will file poll nomination Friday which will also see a show of strength with several BJP allies, including Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray and Janata Dal-United's Nitish Kumar, expected to accompany him. Ending weeks of speculation, the Congress party on Thursday announced Ajay Rai as its candidate against PM Narendra Modi from Varanasi. This means Priyanka Gandhi Vadra won’t take on the prime minister which was being heavily anticipated as a blockbuster battle. In 2014, Modi won the Varanasi seat by over three lakh votes against Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal. While Modi got over 5,81,000 votes, Rai managed about 75,000 votes.
