Rajasthan BJP Forms Manifesto Committee Ahead Of Assembly Polls

Ahead of the Rajasthan assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has formed a manifesto committee in the state.

Ahead of the Rajasthan assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has formed a manifesto committee in the state. Union Minister Arjun Meghwal was made chairman of the Samiti, whereas Ghanshyam Tiwari and Kirodi Lal Meena were made co-convenors.

The saffron party also announced the formation of the Rajasthan election management committee. Narayan Pancharya will be the coordinator of the Rajasthan BJP’s state election management committee, there will be six co-coordinators, as reported by ANI.

Union Minister and Rajasthan election in-charge Prahlad Joshi, while responding to a question regarding the absence of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in the two committees, told ANI that "Vasundhara Raje is our very esteemed leader. We have involved her in many programmes and will continue to do so in the future."

Rajasthan is slated to go to the polls later this year, in which the BJP and the incumbent Congress are set to lock horns in a straight fight. In 2018, the grand old party won 99 seats, while the saffron party managed to win 73 seats in the 200-member house.

Last month, BJP MPs of Rajasthan along with senior leaders held a protest in front of the Gandhi statue on Parliament premises in Delhi against 'rising atrocities and crime against women' in the state. The opposition has been taking a dig at CM Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in the state after the CM sacked one of his ministers for speaking on women's safety in Rajasthan.

This came after Rajasthan Governor on Friday accepted with immediate effect the recommendation of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to sack state minister Rajendra Singh Gudha from the state cabinet, Raj Bhawan informed, as per news agency ANI.
