PM Modi To Address Election Rallies In Tamil Nadu Today

To boost the strength of NDA candidates, the Prime Minister will spearhead rallies in Vellore and Mettupalayam (Coimbatore) areas.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set up to engage in two election campaigns Vellore and Mettupalayam of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Scheduled for the first phase of voting on April 19, Tamil Nadu is witnessing fervent political activity.

To boost the strength of NDA candidates, the Prime Minister will spearhead rallies in Vellore and Mettupalayam (Coimbatore) areas. Specifically, he is lending his support to BJP candidate AC Shanmugam in Vellore.

In Coimbatore, PM Modi is actively promoting the candidacy of Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai. The PM also previously held a roadshow in the region.

He is also campaigning for Soumya Anbumani, the wife of PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss, who is vying for the seat in Dharmapuri.

Adding to his campaign efforts, PM Modi conducted a roadshow in Chennai on Tuesday. He campaigned for Chennai (South) candidate Tamilisai Soundarajan, who previously served as the Governor of Telangana.

PM Visiting TN Only For Votes: CM Stalin

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he described as a pattern of visiting the state solely during election periods. Further, Stalin accused Modi of employing central agencies to target opposition-led states.

On Tuesday, Stalin highlighted that this situation was not unique to Tamil Nadu but prevalent in many non-BJP-governed states across the nation, where central agencies and even Governors were causing disruptions to state governments. Addressing a rally in support of DMK candidates and allies, Stalin remarked, "This is Modi's India."

"Is Tamil Nadu a bird sanctuary for the Prime Minister to visit during election season? Why so much malice? Aren't Tamils citizens of this country?" Stalin asked, as per a report on PTI.
