Hamirpur Lok Sabha Results: BJP's Anurag Thakur Set For Landslide Election Win

BJP has consistently secured victories in the Hamirpur constituency since 1998. Anurag Thakur has secured four consecutive victories in Hamirpur constituency and is likely to make it 5 wins in a row.

Hamirpur Lok Sabha results live: Four-time MP and Union Minister Anurag Thakur of the ruling BJP is leading by over 1,55,000-plus votes in Himachal's Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat and is likely to make it five wins in a row. The star BJP candidate is contesting against Cong's Satpal Raizada. 

In Himachal Pradesh, the electoral battle is primarily between Congress and BJP. Hamirpur, one of the four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh, is a BJP stronghold. Over the past two decades, the Congress party has consistently lost in Hamirpur in the Lok Sabha elections. The last time Congress won from Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat was in 1996.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Anurag Thakur secured big win over Ram Lal of Congress party by a considerable margin. With a total of 6,82,692 lakh votes, Anurag Thakur emerged victorious with a margin of approximately 3,99,572 votes, while Ram Lal Thakur of the Congress received 2,83,120 votes.

Anurag Thakur had previously won in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as well, where he convincingly defeated Rajender Singh Rana of the Congress party by approximately 98,403 votes.

BJP has maintained a stronghold on the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat for the past 26 years. Since 1998, Hamirpur has been consistently won by the BJP. A total of 17 Lok Sabha elections and by-elections have been conducted for this seat since 1952, with BJP emerging victorious a record 10 times.

Only in the inaugural Lok Sabha elections of 1952, independent candidate Anand Chand had won here. Throughout the electoral history of the constituency, the Congress has won four times, the Janata Party once, an independent candidate once, and the BJP has claimed victory ten times.

Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat consists of 17 assembly constituencies, including Dehra, Jaswan-Pragpur, Dharampur, Bhoranj, Sujanpur, Hamirpur, Badsar, Nadaun, Chintpurni, Gagret, Haroli, Una, Kutlahar, Jhanduta, Ghumarwin, Bilaspur, and Shri Naina Deviji.
