In her new song, Neha begins with, "Log maratwa doob doob ke Saheb ke sabhwa jaari ba", translating to people die drowning while Saheb's programmes continue. This is in reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent Gujarat visit when he participated in various inauguration programmes while the rescue operation was underway.
"Galti sab marne waalon ki propoganda jaari ba," she adds referring to reports on whether the overcrowded bridge collapsed because people there were shaking it.
Prime Miniter Modi visited the Morbi bridge site on November 1. He also met the injured admitted at the Civil Hospital. Before the visit, the lat-minute repair work done at the hospital also gained wide attention.
Citing the same, the singer says, "Aspatal mein rang rogan ba, saaf safai jaari ba. Saheb aane waale hain bas ohi ke tayaari ba", mentioning painting and cleaning work done in the hospital as "Saheb is going to arrive".
Attending the inauguration events in Gujarat on Monday, PM Modi said that he was distressed by the Morbi tragedy and was not sure whether he should come to attend the development programmes. "It is a developmental project inaguration event and people who have supported and loved me made him feel responsible to come to this event," he added. "It is your affection that inspired me to attend this event," Modi stated as he laid the foundation stone of water delivery projects worth over Rs. 8000 crores.
'UP Mein Ka Ba'
Previously, the folk singer made headlines with her 'UP mein ka ba' rendition targeting the Yogi Adityanath government over issues such as handling of the pandemic, Lakhimpur Kheri violence and the Hathras rape.
It was released after BJP leader and actor Ravi Kishan released 'UP mein sab ba' song praising his party's governance.
The fresh song comes after the Election Commission of India announced the poll schedule for 182-member Gujarat Assembly which will see its term ending on February 18, 2023.
In a press conference held in the national capital, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced that Gujarat will undergo polls in two phases with first phase of election on December 1 while the second phase of polling will be held on December 5 and the votes will be counted on December 8, 2022.
