Himachal Pradesh Poll 2022: Congress Releases Manifesto, Promises 1 Lakh Govt Jobs, 300 Unit Free Electricity
Congress promised 10 guarantees to the public including implementation of OPS, Rs 1500 per month to women, 300 units of free electricity & purchase of cow dung at Rs 2 per kg.
New Delhi: The Congress Party on Saturday released its manifesto promising one lakh government jobs to the people in its first cabinet meeting if voted to power. 300 units of electricity will be given to each house free of cost, the 'pratigya patra' mentioned.
The party has come up with ten broad guarantees for the voters ahead of the polls. These include the implementation of the old pension scheme, overall 5 lakh jobs for youth, Rs 1500 per month to women, 300 units of free electricity, and purchase of cow dung at Rs 2 per kg.
Other promises include the formation of Agriculture and Horticulture Commission wherein prices of fruits will be decided in consultation with farmers, Rs 68 crore start-up fund for youth, and four English medium schools in each constituency.

The party has also committed to providing free treatment in villages through mobile clinics and said that its government would buy 10 litres of milk from cattle farmers each day.
A food processing park has been promised in the Solan district.
The party mentioned that it will bring new policies for tourism, environment, water harvesting, and outsource workers.
"Special package will be announced to revive the industries that were closed down due to demonetisation and Corona," the manifesto mentions.
The policy of providing employment to 80% of Himachal's youth in private industries of the state will be implemented effectively, the Congress stated.
The Himachal Pradesh will be held in a single phase and the date of polling is November 12. The last date to file the nomination is October 25 and the counting of votes for the Himachal Pradesh assembly election will take place on December 8.
