Trouble For AAP In Punjab? Congress Leader Says '32 MLAs In Contact', Minister Responds

Aman Arora's remarks followed after Congress's Pratap Singh Bajwa claimed that "more than 32" MLAs of the state's ruling Aam Aadmi Party are in touch with him and others may be in touch with the BJP.

Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa's claim that "32 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs are in contact with him" has been dismissed by AAP Punjab President and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, who said that Bajwa is "joking around."

Arora challenged Bajwa to prove his claim or step down from the position of Leader of the Opposition. He further alleged that Bajwa himself is in contact with the BJP and that his recent visit to Bengaluru was actually to meet BJP leaders.

Aman Arora also questioned whether Bajwa was aware when his brother, Fateh Jang Bajwa, joined the BJP. He highlighted that even if Bajwa's claim of having 32 MLAs in contact with him were true, Congress still wouldn't be able to form the government. Congress would have only 47 MLAs, while AAP would still hold the majority.

Regarding Manish Sisodia's visit to Punjab schools, Arora stated that there is nothing wrong with it, as AAP leadership wants the Punjab government to provide the best possible facilities to the people of the state.

Pratap Singh Bajwa's Claim Over 32 AAP's MLA

Aman Arora's remarks followed after Congress's Pratap Singh Bajwa claimed that "more than 32" MLAs of the state's ruling Aam Aadmi Party are in touch with him and others may be in touch with the BJP, indicating that the Bhagwant Mann government is likely to collapse.

However, he added that Congress will not be responsible if the AAP government falls. "The BJP will do that," he added.  "It is not just MLAs there are ministers and other big leaders... But we have made it very much clear that Congress under no circumstances will destabilise this government. It is the BJP who will do it," he told NDTV.

Further adding, he wished the AAP government to complete a five-year term, so that people experienced the kind of government they voted for.
