New Delhi: As counting of votes pointed out a BJP victory in Karnataka, the Congress on Tuesday raised doubts on the ethical functioning of the Electronic Voting Machines in the elections. Congress as in the past has raised questions on EVM and this time again party spokesperson Shakeel Ahmad blamed EVMs for party’s disappointing loss. "Our vote share is equal to Bharatiya Janta Party's (BJP's), but the seat share is massively different and is almost half. The suspicion is directly on EVM which is the prime reason for our loss,” Ahmed said. Interestingly, Congress has the highest vote share so far at 38%, while the BJP is close to 37%.  Latest trends say the BJP was leading in 110 constituencies while the Congress was ahead in 70 seats. According to PTI, the Election Commission had come up with the 'M3 EVMs' that are tamper proof and stops when attempts are made to meddle with it. On a pilot basis, the Election commission chose five assembly constituencies in Bengaluru-- Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Shivajinagar, Shanthinagar, Gandhi Nagar and Rajaji Nagar in Bengaluru. In the outgoing Assembly, the Congress had 122 seats, BJP and JD(S) 40 each, and smaller parties and independents 22.
