Congress Criticises BJP's 'Modi Ka Parivar' Campaign, Calls It A Diversion From Real Issues Amid Growing Support For I.N.D.I.A Bloc

Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, BJP chief J P Nadda, were joined by party members nationwide in declaring themselves as "Modi Ka Parivar" on their social media profiles.

New Delhi: The Congress took a swipe at the BJP on Monday, criticizing its campaign where leaders appended "Modi Ka Parivar" to their social media profiles. The Congress accused the BJP of diverting attention from real issues and engaging in such tactics as the I.N.D.I.A bloc gained traction. The opposition party pointed out figures like Ajay Mishra Teni, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, and billionaire Gautam Adaniare the prime minister's real family, the opposition party said.

According to PTI, the BJP rallied around Modi as its leaders suffixed their names on social media profiles with Modi Ka Parivar (Modi's family) on Monday, a day after RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav took a jibe at him for having no family.

Taking to social media, Rahul Gandhi posted on X, "Farmers are in debt, youths are unemployed, labourers are helpless, and the country is being looted by Modi's 'real family'."

The Congress's social media platforms ran a hashtag 'Modi ka asli parivar' and emphasized PM Modi's ties with Adani. Rahul Gandhi also shared a picture of himself addressing Parliament, prominently displaying a photograph of Modi traveling in a plane with Adani.

Several Congress Leaders Took A Dig At BJP's Campaign Of 'Modi Ka Parivaar'

When questioned about the BJP's campaign, Congress general secretary for organization, K C Venugopal, highlighted the growing enthusiasm among the public, particularly evident in Patna. He noted the expanding support for the I.N.D.I.A bloc, which he suggested was causing frustration among BJP members. Later, in a post on X, Venugopal said, the women of Manipur, the protesting farmers at the Delhi borders, and the unemployed youth driven to suicide find a place in "Modi ka Parivar." Venugopal asserted that the government primarily serves the interests of the Prime Minister's associates, protects individuals accused of serious crimes, and welcomes leaders previously branded as corrupt, That is #ModiKaAsliParivar, he said.

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh took a swipe at the BJP, suggesting that they can no longer criticize others for nepotism, reported PTI.

Meanwhile, Pawan Khera, the head of Congress' media department, remarked that he was eagerly awaiting BJP members Upendra Rawat, Pawan Singh, and Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to add "Modi Ka Pariwar" to their social media bios. Later, Pawan Khera shared a screenshot of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's bio on X, which now included the suffix 'Modi Ka Parivar.' In a post on X, Khera humorously remarked, "Modi Ka Pariwar welcomes Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh."

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh took to X to share screenshots of the social media accounts of Ajay Mishra Teni and Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, both appended with the suffix 'Modi Ka Parivar.' In an apparent reference to recent controversies involving these individuals, Ramesh commented, "Killings of farmers, atrocities against women, this is Modi's real family," using the hashtag 'Modi ka asli parivar'.

Former Chhattisgarh deputy chief minister T S Singh Deo took to social media to post the names of BJP leaders accused of sexual harassment and economic offenses, describing them as "very notorious and deadly," and attributing them to 'Modi Ka Parivar'.

Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and Nirmala Sitharaman, along with BJP chief J P Nadda, were joined by party members nationwide in declaring themselves as "Modi Ka Parivar" on their social media profiles. This move came as the ruling party launched a robust counter-attack against the opposition. Many social media users who support Modi also made similar changes to their bios. BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed reporters, stating that opposition parties have been engaging in personal attacks against Modi and making petty remarks for the past 16-17 years, as per PTI.

The BJP's show of solidarity for its top leader in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections is reminiscent of a similar campaign the party had mounted prior to the 2019 general elections by adding Main Bhi Chowkidar to their names to take on Gandhi's Chowkidar Chor Hai dig at Modi.
