Haryana To Reopen Schools For All Classes With 100% Capacity From Dec 1 – All You Need To Know

As per the latest announcement, schools have been allowed to resume classes, following all Covid-related protocols.

Chandigarh: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar-led Haryana government on Wednesday announced the reopening of schools across the state with 100 per cent capacity from December.

As per the latest announcement, schools have been allowed to resume classes, following all Covid-related protocols.

Authorities must ensure that social distancing is maintained, masks are worn and the use of sanitisers is promoted in school premises. Schools have also been asked to have a detailed plan in place that would be centred around Covid-19 safety protocols.

Haryana government had opened schools for classes 6 to 12 in July, classes 4 and 5 on September 1, and classes 1 to 3 from September 20.

The announcement comes days after the state government announced closure of schools in some parts for three days till today due to a high level of air pollution after Diwali.

Schools in Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, and Jhajjar were closed owing to the high air pollution levels in Delhi NCR.

Reopening of schools in Haryana comes weeks after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan called for restoring normalcy in educational institutions in view of rapid inoculations in the county.

Data shared by Union Education Ministry states that at least 22 states and Union Territories have reopened schools for all students after a prolonged closure due to the Covid pandemic while over 92 per cent of the teaching personnel in India have been vaccinated.

Schools were closed across the country in March last year ahead of a nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19.

While several states reopened schools for senior classes in October last year, authorities again had to close it due to the aggressive second wave of Covid-19 in April this year.
