PM Modi Inaugurates 3 IIMs, IITs, 20 KVs And 13 Navodaya Vidyalayas

PM Modi was felicitated by Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha ahead of the historic launch of developmental projects worth Rs 30,500 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated numerous new educational institutions, totaling Rs 13,375 crore in value. Among the projects are the permanent campuses of IIT-Bhilai, IIT-Tirupati, IIT-Jammu, the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing in Kancheepuram, the Indian Institute of Skills in Kanpur, and two campuses of the Central Sanskrit University at Devprayag in Uttarakhand and Agartala in Tripura.

Additionally, PM Modi also inaugurated three new IIMs in Jammu, Bodh Gaya and Visakhapatnam, along with 20 new buildings for Kendriya Vidyalayas and 13 new Navodaya Vidyalayas at various locations. He also laid the foundation stone for five Kendriya Vidyalaya campuses, one Navodaya Vidyalaya campus and five multipurpose halls for Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country.

At the inauguration event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "I have full faith in you, and we will make 'Viksit Jammu and Kashmir.' Your dreams of 70 years will be fulfilled by Modi in the coming years. Earlier, only disappointing news of bombs, kidnappings and separation used to come from Jammu and Kashmir, but now Jammu and Kashmir is developing and moving forward." 

PM Modi said, "In December 2013, when I participated in BJP's Lalkar rally here, I raised the question of why educational institutions like IIT and IIM cannot be built in Jammu. We fulfilled those promises and today there is IIT and IIM in Jammu. That is why people 'Modi ki guarantee yani guarantee pura hone ki guarantee'.'' 

"Record number of schools, colleges and universities established in India in last 10 years. In JK alone, 50 new degree colleges set up," PM Modi said.

"There was a time when schools were burnt, today schools are being decorated. Today, health facilities are improving rapidly in Jammu and Kashmir. Before 2014, there were 4 medical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir, now there are 12 medical colleges, " Prime Minister added.

Apart from educational institutes PM also inaugurated the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijaypur (Samba), Jammu. The institute, whose foundation stone was laid by him in February 2019, is being established under the central government scheme 'Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana'.

He also presented appointment letters to 1500 newly recruited government officials in Jammu and Kashmir and met with beneficiaries of various initiatives as part of the 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu' campaign.
