NIRF Rankings 2023: Miranda House Tops Among Colleges - Check Top 10 Colleges In India Here

In the NIRF Rankings 2023, Miranda House, Hindu College, and Presidency Chennai have emerged as the best colleges in India.

The NIRF has released the NIRF Ranking 2023 for Educational Institutions in the country. Among the rankings for colleges, Miranda House has topped the list as the best college in the country for 2023. Miranda House is followed by Hindu College Delhi, and Presidency College Chennai at the 2nd and 3rd spot. Notably, the prestigious womens college under the University of Delhi has been ranked as the top college in India for the seventh consecutive year. The Miranda House College first earned the top spot in the NIRF Rankings for Colleges in 2017. Since then, the esteemed college has never left the spot. 

Interestingly, when NIRF Rankings wee first released in 2016, there were only four categories: University, Management, Pharmacy, and Engineering, across which institutions across the country were ranked. It was only in 2017, the second edition of NIRF rankings, the NIRF added two more categories into the rankings: Overall, and Colleges. Therefore, since the intriduction of the 'Colleges' category into the NIRF Rankings 2023, Miranda House has consistently been the top college in India, by far.

Earlier today, June 5, 2023. Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh released the 8th Edition of the NIRF Rankings. The NIRF rates and evaluates educational institutions in India on various parameters and prepares a ranking for such institutions every year under various categories. The parameters on which the NIRF evaluates educational institutions include teaching learning and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcome, outreach and inclusivity and perception.

For 2023, the NIRF has released the ranking of educational institutions in India, the NIRF Rankings 2023 across 11 different categories. These categories include: Overall, University, College, Research, Medical, Dental, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Engineering, and Architecture. Notably, the first NIRF Rankings were announced in 2016. Since then, the NIRF Rankings have been representing the academic excellence, outreach, growth and several other parameters which have a role in the growth and progress of an educational institution.
