NEET-UG Controversy: NSUI Members Storm NTA Office, Lock Building From Inside

NSUI members barged into the Delhi office of the National Testing Agency over irregularities in the NEET medical entrance examinations.

New Delhi: Members of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of Congress, stormed the office of the National Testing Agency (NTA) amid the NEET-UG controversy over alleged exam irregularities. NSUI members entered the NTA office in Okhla, raising slogans of "shut down NTA." There was no immediate response from NTA officials regarding the incident. Visuals shared by NSUI showed numerous members chanting slogans inside the NTA building.

Meanwhile, the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) held a demonstration near Jantar Mantar protesting the alleged rigging of the NEET UG exam. Several IYC workers gathered at Jantar Mantar, raising slogans and carrying placards.

Earlier in the day, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) made its first arrests in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-undergraduate (NEET-UG) paper leak case. Two suspects, Manish Prakash and Ashutosh, were apprehended in Patna, as reported by ANI. The CBI, which recently took over the investigation, visited the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police on Monday to initiate their probe into the alleged irregularities in the exam.

Officials reported that the suspects allegedly provided secure premises for aspirants before the examination, where students received leaked papers and answer keys. Manish Prakash was responsible for transporting candidates to Learn Play School in his car, while Ashutosh arranged accommodation for the students at Safe House, located in his residence.

Notably, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate), or NEET-UG, conducted by the NTA on May 5, saw around 24 lakh candidates participating. The results, announced on June 4, were followed by allegations of question paper leaks in states such as Bihar and other irregularities.
