The parents’ body says that cancellation of exams will lead to the loss of an academic year and impact their professional life. “These exams are so important that they determine students’ career and also the entire life. As such, the Respondent Authorities must take into consideration as a relevant factor, the fact that any further deferment of the examination will further add to the stress levels of the students resulting in further traumatising the students with the uncertainty of their future and thereby severely impacting their academic performance in the ultimate examination to be held in future,” the reports said quoting the petition. The petition comes after 11 students from different states filed a plea in the Supreme Court earlier this month seeking the postponement of JEE (Main) April 2020 and NEET-Undergraduate examinations due to the rising Covid 19 cases in the country. "Conducting the aforesaid examination across India at such perilous time, is nothing else but putting lives of lakhs of young students (including petitioners herein) at utmost risk and danger of disease and death. The best recourse at this stage can be to wait for some more time, let COVID-19 crisis subside and then only conduct these exams, in order to save lives of the students and their parents," said the plea which was filed through advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava. Exam Schedules The admit cards for JEE Mains 2020 according to NTA will be made available 15 days before the exams. This means that students can expect it around August 15. The revised schedule for the exams JEE(Mains)- September 1-6 JEE-advanced- September 27. NEET examination- September 13.
