The total number of questions to be attempted will remain the same (Physics: 25, Chemistry: 25 and Mathematics: 25), wherever applicable. However, The NTA has decided to provide for choice in the question papers to rationalize the decision of various exam Boards for reduction of the syllabus across the country.
"In light of rationalization of the syllabus by various Boards, the NTA has decided to provide for choice in the question papers and thus there will be two sections in each paper," it said.
As per the official notification, the phases will help ensure that the students get a first-hand experience of taking an examination in the first attempt and as they are made aware of their mistakes they can improve upon the same while attempting for the next time.
Additionally, it will reduce the chances of dropping a year and droppers will not have to waste a full year. "If anyone missed the examination due to reasons beyond control, then he/she will not have to wait for one full year," the notice read.
