GATE 2024: Application Process Begins Tomorrow, Check Key Details Before Applying

Candidates will be able to register for the GATE 2024 Exam till October 13, 2023, on gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

The Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, will open the online application window for GATE 2024 tomorrow. Interested candidates will be able to submit their GATE 2024 applications on the official website - gate2024.iisc.ac.in. The last date to apply for the exam is September 29. Candidates would still be able to submit their registration cum application forms for the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering) till October 13, but with a late fee of Rs 500. 

Following the closure of the GATE 2024 online application window, the IISC Bangalore will also open the application correction faculty for registered students from November 7 to 11, 2023. The GATE 2024 Admit Cards will be released by January 3, 2024. As per the official schedule, the GATE 2024 will be conducted on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024. The Indian Institute of Science (IISC) Bengaluru is the organizing institute for the GATE 2024 Exam. The exam will be conducted for a total of 30 papers this year.

While applying for GATE 2024, Females, SC, and ST category candidates will be required to pay an application fee of Rs 900, while the application fee for all other candidates is Rs 1,800. Candidates who have completed any government approved undergraduate degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/ Architecture/ Humanities are eligible to apply for GATE 2024 Exam. Candidates who are presently studying in the third year of their undergraduate degrees can also apply for the GATE 2024 Exam. The previous year GATE Exam’s eligibility criteria also included Commerce subject which has been removed this year.

Candidates may also note that the IISC Bangalore will be conducting the GATE 2024 Exams at exam centres located in India only. The international exam centres of the GATE Exam have been withdrawn for 2024. The IISC notified on its official website that foreign national and nRIs residing outside India can apply for the GATE 2024 Exam, but they will be required to choose an exam centre in India only.

  • Register online and fill in the application form
  • Upload relevant documents and pay the application fee online
  • Submit the application form
  • Download the application confirmation page for reference
