DU Admission 2020: Dates, Application Form, Eligibility Criteria & Admission Process
The University of Delhi also known as the Delhi University has released important details about the admissions happening this year.
New Delhi: The University of Delhi also known as the Delhi University has released important details about the admissions happening this year. The tentative period when the process of admission in different courses will begin is the first week of June 2020. The recently released detailed information about DU Admission 2020 such as Application form, Syllabus, Eligibility Criteria and complete admission process is as follows.
The entrance exam will be conducted only for the PG courses. The admission in the UG programmes will be based on the DU cut-off. The details about the Delhi University application form for various courses are mentioned below.
UG Courses Application Form
The candidates applying for UG programmes will have to fill the online Pre-admission form for all categories (General/OBC/SC/ST/PwD). As previously stated, the university will not conduct any entrance exams for admission in UG courses. There are two separate common Pre-Admission forms - one for General/OBC and the other for SC/ST/PwD. There will be no pre-admission at the college level.
PG Courses Application Form (MD/MS/ MDS)
The candidates seeking admission in PG courses will have to fill the DU 2020 Application form. 50% of seats will be filled by direct admission of DU students and the remaining 50% seats will be filled through the entrance exam and interviews. The registration fee for SC/ST/PwD is Rs. 1,000 for each course and the fee for the other candidates (General, OBC, etc.) is Rs. 1500. No changes will be allowed, after submission of the application form.
Eligibility Criteria
UG Courses: Candidates have to qualify their Senior Secondary School Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or an examination recognized as equivalent. They have to pass the examination by obtaining minimum marks as specified for each course. PG Courses: The eligibility criteria for each programme is different. The candidate will have to finish their graduation in their specific field from a recognized university. There is no minimum age bar limit, except for those regulated by bodies such as the Medical Council of India, Bar Council of India, etc. Delhi University Exam Pattern The exam pattern will be different for each academic course. The PG entrance exam will have OMR based examination. For UG courses, the entrance exam will be held only for certain specific courses that are entrance based. Delhi University Syllabus The DU syllabus for UG entrance tests is based on the academic syllabus of class 11th and 12th. The syllabus for UG Courses that are entrance based is yet to be released by the university. The PG entrance exam syllabus will be different as that depends upon the course. The syllabus is yet to be notified. Reservation The category-wise reservation is as follows:- Scheduled Caste - 15 %
- Scheduled Tribes - 7.5 %
- Other Backward Classes (OBC) - 27%
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) - 3%
- Children / Widow of Armed Forces - 5%
- Kashmiri Migrants - 5%
- Sports/ECA Quota - 5%
- Foreign Students - 5%
- Girls Students - 3%
Delhi University Counselling 2020
UG Courses Those who pass the eligibility criteria and cut off will be shortlisted for an interview. Finally, candidates will be admitted after successful confirmation of documents and submitting the same to the university along with academic year fees. PG Courses For DU students that are in the direct admission category, candidates will be called for the PG counselling process on the basis of their score and rank in the merit list, that is prepared on the basis of UG score. For those who cleared the entrance exam, the DU counselling 2020 will begin a few weeks after the result declaration. After the counselling, candidates will face the interview session. Those who pass the interview will be admitted to the university. List of Documents Required For Submission: Candidates will be required to produce the following documents in original with two sets of self-attested photocopies.- Class 10th and 12th Mark sheet
- Class 10th and 12th Passing Certificate
- Character Certificate (recent)
- SC/ST Certificate
- OBC (Non- Creamy Layer) Certificate
- At least two passport size self-attested photographs
