Delhi Public School RK Puram Gets Bomb Threat; Case Registered
According to the police, all students were evacuated from the school premises as a precautionary measure.
New Delhi: The Delhi Police have registered a case and started the investigation after receiving a bomb threat call at the Delhi Police School located in R K Puram, New Delhi, as reported by news agency ANI. Students were promptly evacuated from the school premises as a precautionary measure, Delhi Police said. A thorough search operation is underway and no suspicious findings reported thus far, according to the police.
"Nothing suspicious was found during the search. The school and hostel have been thoroughly searched by the bomb detection team (BDT), but nothing was found suspicious by the teams. Further investigation into the matter is underway," Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) Rohit Meena was quoted by PTI as saying.
DCP Rohit Meena said that the entire premises were searched by the BDT and dog squad after they got a call from the DPS school management.
Sources reported that the school received an email around 9 am, indicating the presence of two bombs on the premises. Upon receiving the email, the administration promptly notified the police. Subsequently, the police evacuated the school and initiated a thorough search operation. Authorities are currently tracing the IP address associated with the email.
Last September, Lal Bahadur Shastri School in RK Puram also received a similar email regarding a bomb threat, which was later confirmed to be a hoax.

Similarly, in May, Delhi Public School in Mathura Road encountered a similar hoax email about a bomb threat. The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar experienced two bomb threats, one in April 2023 via email, and the first over the phone in November 2022, both of which were determined to be hoaxes.
