A 22-year-old student, Aditya Thakur, died from stab wounds sustained during a concert at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Students staged a protest alleging outsiders were responsible.

A 22-year-old student, one of four students stabbed by unidentified assailants during a concert at Panjab University’s South Campus, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, police said. The incident took place on Friday night during a performance by Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma. The deceased has been identified as Aditya Thakur, a second-year student of computer science engineering at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET).

Thakur was rushed to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, officials said, as per PTI. The three other injured students are receiving treatment at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16.
