CBSE Class 12th Mathematics Paper Analysis: 'Moderate With Some Challenges,' Says Teachers

CBSE Class 12th Mathematics Paper Analysis: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12th Mathematics exam today, March 9, 2024. The question paper for CBSE Class 12 Maths comprised a total of 100 marks, with 80 marks allotted for the written examination and 20 marks for internal assessments. The exam lasted for 3 hours from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Students were instructed to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the exam and were required to present their admit cards for entry.
The CBSE Class 12 Maths board written exam for 2024 comprises a total of 80 marks. The question paper was divided into 5 sections, including MCQs, very short answer type questions, short answer type questions, long answer type questions and source-based/case-based/passage-based/integrated units of assessment. Each section carries a distinct mark weightage ranging from 1 mark to 5 marks.

Deepika Joshi and Parmeet Singh, educators from Shiv Nadar School Noida, shared their insights on the Mathematics paper. According to them, "The Mathematics paper was moderate and lengthy. A few questions in sections A and C were difficult." They noted that students faced challenges with specific questions but generally found the rest manageable.
On the other hand, Manish Arora and Ramneek Kaur, also educators from Shiv Nadar School, provided their analysis of the Applied Mathematics paper. They mentioned, "The Applied Mathematics paper was moderate. Two questions in Sections C and E were difficult." They further observed, "Some of the calculations in Section E were lengthy, and a few questions in Section C were tricky." However, they reassured that students were familiar with most of the questions from their school practice sessions.
