CBSE Class 10 Exam 2019: Result to be declared in May; Improvement/Compartment exams - know your options

Result is expected to be declared early by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), this year.

CBSE Class 10 Examination 2019: The result is expected to be declared early by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), this year. Speculations are rife that the country’s largest board will announce the class 10th results by the second week of May 2019, next month, for a total of 31,14,831 candidates who had registered for the same. While teachers and parents anticipate their wards to pass the exam with flying colours, however, students who do not pass their class 10th board exams must not be discouraged or labelled weak. As caregivers, we must understand that every child is different and the theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI) labels Intellectual Quotient (IQ) as just one of the many intelligences a child can possess. It is our responsibility to motivate a child who has flunked his/her board exams and rather know the options available so that their one year can be saved and they can get admission to the next class, in the subjects/stream of their choice. CBSE Compartment Exams 2019: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) grants three attempts to appear for the compartmental examinations to class 10th students. The CBSE compartment exams 2019 will be held in the months of July/August 2019. Students can appear for the same by preparing well in advance for the subject they feel they’ll not be able to clear due to any reason. The students will have further two chances in March/April 2020 and then in July/August 2020 to exercise their next two chances. Candidates must aim to clear the compartment exam in the first chance itself, as they can get admissions provisionally to class XI even when they qualify in compartment category. However, their admission can stand cancelled if they fail the first chance of compartmental exam. CBSE Improvement Exams 2019: There are many students who do not get admission in the stream or pick subjects of their choice due to lesser marks than required by various schools/institutions. On the other hand, at times students are not satisfied with their marks in certain subjects. In either event, students can appear for improvement exams in the next year only. Thereby students who had appeared for CBSE Class 10th Board Exams 2019 can appear for the improvement exams in March/April 2020. However, a candidate who has passed under Vocational Scheme may reappear for improvement of performance in the main examination in the succeeding year or the following year provided s/he has not pursued higher studies in the meantime. What about Subjects with Practical Work? As per CBSE guidelines for the year 2019, “For subjects involving practical work, in case the candidate has passed in practical at the main examination, he/she shall be allowed to appear in the theory part only and marks in practical obtained at the main examination shall be carried forward and accounted for.” CBSE further adds that “In case a candidate has failed in practical he/she shall have to appear in theory and practical both irrespective of the fact that he/she has already cleared the theory examination.” All the Best!
