CBSE Board Begins Post Result Counselling Services For Class 10, 12 Students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a counselling service for class 10, and 12 students.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun offering counselling services to students who received their Class 10 and 12 results yesterday. CBSE will provide psychological services from May 13 to May 27, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Monday to Saturday), according to an official announcement from CBSE.

Through the tele-helpline service, a total of 59 principals, trained counsellors, special educators, and psychologists from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools will be available to assist Class 10 and 12 students. Of these, 53 experts are based in India, while six are from the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

Students from any part of the country can access these services by dialling a toll-free number, 1800-11-8004, which provides centralised access to the CBSE tele-counselling helpline and offers information and helpful tips to parents and students experiencing result-related anxiety or stress. Students can also access the "Counselling" link on the CBSE website for further information.

The overall pass percentage for CBSE Class 10 Result 2023 is 93.12 percent, showing a decrease of 1.28 percent from last year's pass percentage of 94.40 percent. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 94.25 percent, while the passing percentage for boys is 92.27 percent. Girls have done better than boys by 1.98 percent.

On the other hand, the overall pass percentage for class 12 is 87.33 percent. The pass percentage of girl candidates in the CBSE Class 12 board exam is 90.68 percent, which is higher than the pass percentage of boys, which is 84.67 percent.

CBSE has decided not to publish a merit list for Class 10, 12 12 board exam results to prevent unhealthy competition among students. Additionally, the board has decided not to award first, second, or third divisions. Instead, CBSE will issue merit certificates to the top 0.1% of students who have scored the highest marks in individual subjects. This move by CBSE aims to encourage students to focus on their own learning and academic growth rather than competing for ranks and divisions.
