CBSE Announces Major Changes For Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021-22 Session - Read Details

CBSE has come up with a special assessment plan for Class 10 and 12 board exams for the 2021-2022 session.

New  Delhi: The unprecedented COVID-19 crisis caused education throughout the country to be imparted in virtual mode. Due to extreme exposure risk, the Central Board Of Secondary Education had to cancel both its Class 10 and 12 Board examinations of the year 2021 and results are to be declared on the basis of "a credible, reliable, flexible and valid alternative assessment policy".

CBSE on Monday released a circular wherein the board informed about its special assessment plan for Class 10 and 12 board exams of the 2021-2022 academic session.

The board has stated that efforts will be made to make internal assessments and project work more credible and valid. CBSE will rationalise the syllabus for classes 10 and 12 for 2021-22, which will be notified by July end.

The first-term exams will be held in November-December, second-term examinations to be scheduled in March-April.

Special Scheme for 2021-22 Academic Session

The academic session 2021-22 will be divided into 2 Terms with approximately 50 percent syllabus in each term. This will be done following a systematic approach by looking into the interconnectivity of concepts and topics by the Subject Experts and the Board will conduct examinations at the end of each term on the basis of the bifurcated syllabus, CBSE informed.

This is being done to increase the probability of having a Board conducted classes 10 and 12 examinations at the end of the academic session.

CBSE further informed that results would be computed on the basis of the Internal Assessment, Practical, Project Work, and Theory marks of Term-I and II exams taken by the candidates from home in Class 10/12 that are subject to moderation or other measures to ensure validity and reliability of the assessment.

Data analysis of students' marks will be undertaken to ensure the integrity of internal assessments and home-based exams.
